Spoiler alert for the post-credits scene.
Wonder Woman 1984 debuted triumphantly in the US over the weekend, and viewers had the opportunity to watch the film both in theaters and on HBO Max. Considering how long the tape has taken to release, and the fact that Warner Bros. has already officially announced the filming of the sequel, it’s safe to say that there is a lot of hype around the franchise right now.
One of the last to share his opinion on the new work of Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins was Big Little Lies star Reese Witherspoon. The actress posted a laudatory post on Twitter, in which she noted that the film has “great fight scenes and villains,” and also called the “epic” surprise that awaited viewers at the very end.
Wow!! Loved @WonderWomanFilm ! Great action sequences/villains. Congrats @PattyJenks and @GalGadot .. loved to see Diana soar in her golden suit 💫oh and the surprise at the end was EPIC ! pic.twitter.com/Q0uOshTIPT

The surprise that Witherspoon mentioned is, of course, a cameo by the iconic Wonder Woman actress Linda Carter. She plays Asteria, the protector of the Amazons, who originally wore the armor of the Golden Eagle and remained in the human world for a long time, helping them. The appearance of the actress in the scene after the credits really became epic, because it was a tribute to the original show, which was considered canon for many years.
