Renate Blauel is sued alleging that the singer broke the terms of her divorce agreement in her recent autobiography.
According to The Sun newspaper, Renate Blauel, 67, Elton Johne’s ex-wife, is suing the star after she wrote about her four-year marriage in her recent autobiography.
According to the English newspaper, Blauel claims that the comments in the book, which were completely positive, broke the terms of an agreement they made when they separated in 1988 and triggered problems in their mental health.
Court documents indicate that Elton agreed to delete certain passages before the book, Me, was published last year, however, seeing them published in the book “broke” Renate’s heart.
People close to Elton, 73, say he has had a friendly relationship with his ex.
They also say that the book does not contain anything that is not in the public domain.
One told the publication: “Elton is shocked and saddened by Renate’s claim, especially as he has only publicly praised her.”
Another source added: “He has always had a very pleasant relationship with Renate, respects her greatly and would never have said anything revealing about his marriage. Hope she makes sense and abandons this case. “
Renate previously unsuccessfully sought a court order against Elton, which is supposed to have ended with the release of the 2019 movie Rocketman.
Elton met sound engineer Renate in 1983 while working on their album Too Low for Zero, and the couple married a year later.
However, the couple divorced in 1988.
Elton is now married to David Furnish, and the couple share two children.
