The latest book by Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell will be a TV series. That confirms the boss of Paramount TV, Nicole Clemens, at Eonline.
“I am happy to be able to visualize these rich complex lives”
The book is called Is There Still Sex in the City? and is about sex, dating and friendship – the success formula for the original Sex and the City. This story is also about all that, but then what it is like for women over 50. Candace goes the script for the pilot writer and is executive producer.
“In the 50’s it used to be the start of your retirement,” says the writer. “People in their fifties were not expected to work out, set up businesses, move, have casual sex and start anew. But this is exactly what the lives of many women in their 50s and 60s mean and I am happy to have these rich complex lives may screen. “
Nicole: “The original Sex and the City has been groundbreaking for a whole generation of women, including myself,” the Paramount TV boss says in a statement. “We are pleased that we can continue this story for the under-represented group of women in their 50s.”
The book Is There Still Sex in the City? is coming out in August.
