Double Oscar Winner for Merciless and Million Dollar Baby , Clint Eastwood will not seek a third coronation with The 15:17 to Paris .
Ridley Scott surprised everyone a few weeks ago by announcing the release of All the Money in the World at the end of December 2017, hoping to get some Oscar-winning quotes. One could expect a similar maneuver from Clint Eastwood, who had managed to finish American Sniper just in time for the Oscars in 2015, for his new film.
It will be nothing for The 15:17 to Paris. The filming of his new feature film ended only a few weeks ago. Clint Eastwood made footage in Arras train station in September. The post-production will, therefore, take a little longer than expected and the film will finally be released on February 9, 2018, preventing it from competing for the prestigious statuettes.
The 15: 17 to Paris is interested in three American tourists who managed to prevent an attack on a Thalys train, August 21, 2015, by disarming the attacker. The director of Gran Torino focuses here on their journey and returns to the series of improbable events that led them to be on board this train.
After American Sniper and Sully, Clint Eastwood tells once again the extraordinary fate of ordinary American citizens. In The 15:17 to Paris, the three heroes, Alek Skarlatos, Anthony Sadler and Spencer Stone, perform their own roles. They are accompanied by Judy Greer and Jenna Fischer among others.
