Ed Sheerans hit Shape Of You in 2017 has achieved the status of diamond plate in the United States. That means that more than ten million physical and downloaded copies of the track have been sold.
The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has announced this via Billboard. It is already the second diamond award for Sheeran. In 2017 the song Thinking Out Loud won the same honor.
Sheeran is only the fourth artist who has made several diamond tracks, since this prize was invented 20 years ago. The English singer thanked his fans through social media. ,, My single Shape Of You is now a diamond in the US! Thank you to everyone who made this possible, “said the superstar.
