Dutch actress Sylvia Hoeks is likely to complete the cast of The Girl in the Spider’s Web, a sequel to 2011 The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo bookshow.
That reports Variety. Hoeks (34), currently featured in Blade Runner 2049, will play the malicious twin sister of the character Lisbeth Salander.
It was previously known that The Crown actress Claire Foy will interpret this role. She takes over Rooney Mara’s role.
The second part of the series takes place in January in Berlin and Stockholm. The release date of the movie is scheduled for October 19, 2018.
Hoeks, who was seen in the Netherlands in productions such as Adelaide and The Gang of Oss, is now mostly involved in American productions.
Stieg Larsson
The Millennium films are based on the crime novels of the Swedish journalist and writer Stieg Larsson, who turned around the main characters Lisbeth Salander and Michael Blomkvist.
The books were released posthumously after Larsson’s death in 2004. The first part of the series was filmed in 2009 as men who hate women. The second part appeared in the Netherlands in 2010 as The woman who played fire and the third part came out as Millennium 3: Justice.
In early 2012, the English-language filming by David Fincher appeared in the first book, called The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, with starring Daniel Craig as Blomkvist and Mara as Salander.
The Swedish writer David Lagercrantz wrote the fourth part of the Millennium Series in 2015, which will not kill us. The same year, it was announced that this book would be filmed as The Girl in the Spider’s Web, but that actors Craig and Mara would no longer be involved in the film project.
