A few days ago Amy Rossum shocked fans of “Shameless”, announcing her retirement from the series. While the fans of the actress were surprised, her colleague William Macy was not surprised at Amy’s decision – and thinks that his “telecottage” actually “made the right choice.”
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Macy confessed that they all expected something of the kind in the same way – after all, the series lasted for eight seasons and returns from the 9th (after which Amy will leave):
“When you get to the ninth season and think if it’s worth continuing, it’s exhausting. It is difficult at this moment not to think – what would be my life after the series? And partly it scares, but in part it’s incredibly interesting. Amy is young, and I think she made the right choice. She has another project in which she is an executive producer, so she will immediately be busy with something else, something new. Plus, she just got married. I wish her all the best. I can not wait to find out what she will do next. “
