The protagonist of the series ‘Prison Break’ was diagnosed with the disorder just a year ago.
Actor Wenthwor Miller, who became famous thanks to his starring role on the television series “Prison break,” has announced that he has autism.
The 49-year-old actor wrote a long message accompanying a completely blank image: “Like everyone else, life in quarantine took things away from me. But in isolation, I found unexpected gifts. This fall marks a year since I received my informal diagnosis of autism. Preceded by a self-diagnosis. Followed by a formal diagnosis ”.
Let’s say my diagnosis was a shock. But not a surprise… I don’t know enough about autism. Right now, my work seems to evolve my understanding ”.
The actor clarified that disclosing his diagnosis does not make him a spokesperson for the autistic community: “I don’t want to take the risk of suddenly becoming a strong and misinformed voice… If anyone is interested in delving into autism and neurodiversity, I can direct them to the many people who share very inspiring content on Instagram, Youtube and TikTok… These creators talk about the relevant topics with more knowledge and fluency than I (they have also been educating me) ”.
