The building of the National Museum of Qatar was designed by the famous French architect Jean Nouvel, who was inspired by the crystals that form in the sand of the desert. The museum was conceived as a center of culture and communications and should become one of the main attractions of Doha, both in terms of architecture and at the expense of the wealth of internal exposure. The museum has eight thousand square meters of permanent gallery space, two thousand square meters of space for temporary expositions, a giant auditorium, a forum, a television studio, two cafes, a restaurant and a museum shop.
