Travis Scott started his own foundation to offer scholarships.
Travis Scott recently started his own foundation called the Cactus Jack Foundation, through which he is offering scholarships to help the local Texas community and created the Waymon Webster Scholarship, named after his grandfather.
Speaking of why he created the foundation, Kylie Jenner’s ex claimed on his new organization’s official website.
“My grandfather wanted me to finish school, I think education is something powerful, so being able to give someone the opportunity to fulfill this dream that my ‘dad’ had for me is wonderful,” he justified.
Stormi Webster’s father explained her mission:
“The mission of the Cactus Jack Foundation is to empower and enrich the lives of young people by providing them with access to education and creative resources to ensure long-term success. The foundation believes that young people should not be prevented from achieving their life goals and is committed to extending educational opportunities to all, regardless of their circumstances, to achieve their dreams.
The scholarships will be awarded to students who are or go to historically black colleges and universities, including Morehouse College, Howard University, Texas Southern University, Grambling State University, the university his mother attended, and Prairie View A&M, where his grandfather studied.
The lucky ones will be chosen by Travis, who will offer financial support to students, as well as help those struggling amid the coronavirus pandemic.
