Tom Cruise (59) arrived in a very special way at the world premiere of his new movie ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ in San Diego. The actor arrived by helicopter at the USS Midway Museum, where photographers, press and fans were waiting for him. This reports The Daily Mail.
“I can fly a helicopter but now someone else has flown me”
After 36 years, Tom Cruise returns to the role of Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell, the character with whom he became world famous in the 1986 film Top Gun . Tom Cruise had not put on his flying suit this time and appeared in a suit with his ‘aviator’ sunglasses.
Although Tom is known for wanting to do all his stunts himself, this time he wasn’t behind the controls of the helicopter. “No, not today. I can fly a helicopter but now someone else has flown me,” said a laughing Tom.
Jennifer Connelly, who plays Penny Benjamin in the film, praised her colleague. “It was just incredibly inspiring to see him at work. Everyone knows how driven he is and how excited he is to do his own stunts and how athletic he is, but when you really see it for yourself you see how special that is.”
