Taylor Swift unexpectedly releases her eighth studio album on the night from Thursday to Friday, the singer says on Twitter . She quarantined her new album, Swift says.

Her album is entitled Folklore and Swift sings about “her whims, dreams and fears”. “Many of the things I planned for this summer were canceled, but there is also something that was not planned and that did happen,” the artist writes. “And that’s Folklore , my eighth studio album.”
Swift wrote and recorded her album at home, but worked remotely with, among others, Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, Aaron Dessner of The National and singer and composer Jack Antonoff. He worked several times with Swift and co-wrote her hit include Look What You Made Me Do .
“Before, I might have thought a long time about the perfect time to release my music, but nowadays reminds me that nothing goes without saying,” says Swift. “My gut feeling tells me that when you make something you love, you have to share it with the rest of the world.”
Thirty-year-old Swift released her most recent album Lover in the summer of 2019 .
