Singer Joss Stone, currently doing a world tour, is not allowed in Iran.
Because the authorities did not believe that Stone would not perform in the country, she was blacklisted. “We knew that I should not give a public performance because I am a woman,” writes the singer.
“Personally, I did not want to end up in prison or to interfere with political affairs,” the 32-year-old singer continues. After a discussion with customs, Stone and her team were detained, and a day later they had to leave the country.
Still, the singer said she did not have an unpleasant feeling about her experience. “The customs people were so nice that at some point I wondered if they were planning something, but it wasn’t. They were genuinely annoyed that they couldn’t do anything for me. Until the moment we were at it boarded the plane, they kept saying sorry. “
