Una Stubbs passed away on Thursday at the age of 84. The British actress became known for her roles in the television series Sherlock and EastEnders .
Stubbs died at home in Edinburgh surrounded by her family, her manager Rebecca Blonde reported to the BBC .
“Mom passed away peacefully today. We ask for privacy and understanding during these difficult and sad times,” her sons Joe, Christian and Jason said in a statement.
Stubbs started her career as a dancer and soon made a move to television. In the Netherlands, Stubbs is best known for her role in the British BBC series Sherlock . In this she played Mrs. Hudson, Sherlock Holmes’ landlady. The detective was played by British actor Benedict Cumberbatch.
