Actress Sharon Stone (61) filed a lawsuit against rapper Chanel West Coast. The woman is not happy with the song ‘Sharon Stoned’ and has filed a complaint with a court in Los Angeles. Various American media report this.
Sharon Stone, who is known from the movie “Basic Instinct,” for example, believes Chanel West Coast is trying to use the “exceptional popularity and fame” of the actress to “increase her own fame.” According to Page Six, this can be read in the indictment. The rapper, whose real name is Chelsea Chanel Dudley, uses the name “Sharon Stone” no less than 33 times in the song. “Sharon” even occurs 99 times.
Chanel West Coast is further accused of using a figure in the clip of the song that shows great resemblance to Sharon Stone, and that she links the actress’ name to “cannabis paraphernalia”. The indictment lists some of Sharon Stone’s “achievements,” to substantiate that her fame is very high. It is reported that Stone has 1.6 million followers on Instagram, 118,000 followers on Twitter and 643,000 fans on Facebook.
According to the indictment, Stone brought the matter because she “wants to keep control over the way her name, image, identity and person are used.” Chanel West Coast, who has not yet responded to the case, must pay damages if it is up to Sharon Stone. How much the actress wants is unknown.
