Disney has indefinitely postponed the films Death on the Nile , the sequel to the hit film Murder on the Orient Express , and Free Guy due to the corona virus. Both films were originally scheduled for December, Variety reports Thursday.
No new date has yet been announced for the release of the films.
Directed by Shawn Levy, Free Guy is about a bank employee who finds out that he is an extra in a video game. Ryan Reynolds plays the lead. It is the second time that this film has been postponed due to the corona virus. The film was previously scheduled for July.
Death on the Nile is the sequel to the film Murder on the Orient Express from actor and director Kenneth Branagh. That film was a great success worldwide and is about a detective who has to solve a murder on a train.
In the sequel, a murder takes place on a cruise ship sailing the Nile. Gal Gadot, Letitia Wright, Armie Hammer and Russell Brand, among others, play leading roles in the film.
Postponing the films is another blow to the cinema industry, which is desperate for new films. Many major films, including the sequel to James Bond No Time To Die , were previously delayed due to the corona pandemic.
