After the news that Disney would remake Cool Musical, Selena Gomez and David Henry were about to breathe new life into the once-popular teenage series Wizards of Waverly Place.
The series was aired on Disney from 2007 to 2012. Since then, not only the previous fans have grown up, but also the stars of the show themselves. However, this fact is unlikely to become an obstacle for 27-year-old Selena Gomez and 30-year-old David Henry. In an interview with ET Live, the actor said that he and his colleague are already considering a future restart:
This is still unofficial, but Selena and I are constantly discussing ideas for reboot.
The Wizards of Waverly Place tell how three teenage wizards — Justin, Alex, and Max — combine everyday life with learning magic. But the main intrigue of the show is different: after reaching 18 years, only one of the heroes will retain supernatural abilities.
Henry shared a couple of ideas for restarting with reporters.
The series ended, one of them remained a magician. We want to bring the audience a few years ahead after the events of the finale and place the heroes in the worst conditions they have ever been in. Alex will become a fashion designer, Justin will have a family, Max will become the owner of the store. They will be disconnected, but reunited in the course of the plot,
– said David.
