Canada and Saudi Arabia are in a conflict after the Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland last week called for the release of arrested civil rights activists. One of them, Samar Badawi, has a Canadian passport.
On Monday, Saudi Arabia summoned the Canadian ambassador to leave the country within 24 hours. The ambassador in Canada was also recalled by the oil state. In addition, the country freezes all new trade and investment transactions with Canada and flights between the two countries have been canceled.
