Ricky Martin Seeks Joint Custody of Kids in Divorce from Jwan Yosef After 6 Years of Marriage
In a recent development, renowned singer Ricky Martin has filed for joint custody of his two children, Lucia and Renn, as part of his divorce from husband Jwan Yosef. According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Martin is determined to “continue the joint upbringing” of their children.
The 51-year-old “Livin’ La Vida Loca” artist lodged a divorce petition with the Superior Court of California, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the separation. While the date of separation remains undisclosed, Martin is seeking both joint physical and legal custody of their four-year-old daughter Lucia and three-year-old son Renn. Martin and Yosef’s relationship began in 2015 when they connected through Instagram. After meeting in person six months later in London, they started dating. The couple got engaged in 2016 and officially tied the knot on August 29, 2017. The court documents indicate that Martin referred to Yosef as his husband and expressed his excitement about their union during an interview with E! News in January 2018.
