The American singer R. Kelly (55) has to give 28,000 dollars (almost 28,000 euros) from his bank account in prison to the judge. That money will be used for the fines with a level of 140,000 dollars (more than 139,000 euros) that he still has outstanding and for possible damages that he has to pay his victims.
The judge had imposed the fines after she sentenced the singer in June to 30 years in prison for sexual abuse of minors.
R. Kelly does not want to give up the money from his prison account, which can be used to buy snacks and toiletries in prison. The judge has given the prison management ten days to transfer the money to the court.
