Where it was previously announced that Queen Elizabeth (95) would continue to work from home despite her corona infection, it now appears that she is not capable of this. Buckingham Palace announced today that the video calls scheduled for today have all been cancelled.
“She will just continue with her slightly less arduous work”
According to Buckingham Palace, Elizabeth is currently suffering from mild corona symptoms, similar to a mild cold. “She has decided not to do video calls today, but she will continue with her slightly less heavy work.” The spokesperson also says that it is not yet certain whether later appointments will go ahead this week, depending on how Elizabeth is feeling at the time.
Elizabeth tested positive for corona last Sunday. On Monday, she conveyed her condolences to the president of Brazil, who is currently dealing with flooding in his country. Elizabeth would also have her weekly phone call with Boris Johnson tomorrow and she would have planned several video calls. It is still unclear whether these will continue.
Elizabeth’s health doesn’t seem to be going very well lately. She recently had to spend a night in the hospital for a check-up.
