After singer Halsey, model Behati Prinsloo and actress Maisie Williams, pop star Taylor Swift (29) appears with pink locks at the iHeart Radio Music Awards. If you thought the eye-catching color was a short 80’s trend, then you are wrong. The celebrities who color their hair pink can no longer be counted on two hands. Whether it is a completely pink coupe, or a slightly brave dip dye: pink is in.
Taylor Swift is by no means the only celebrity who chooses a touch of pink. Ashley Benson, Hailey Baldwin, Rita Ora, Ellie Goulding, Rihanna and Nicole Richie have all been spotted with pink hairstyles. American rappers – and full-time arch rivals – Cardi B and Nicki Minaj also occasionally appear with a rainbow color. For most stars, the trend is a temporary experiment, while others make it their characteristic. Every year the trendy color keeps coming back on different famous heads.

Not only American celebrities venture the cheerful color, our BVs are also not afraid of some pink. Just think of Tanja Dexters, Joyce de Troch and Jessy from The Mackenzie. Hair stylist Jochen Vanhoudt discovered the trend a few years ago: “Since five years, that color has been coming back every year. The requests for it stop in the fall and start again in the spring. It really is a very summery and festive look. From the moment a celebrity does it, the trend comes back up. ”
Yet such a pink shade is not always as striking as you might think. “It is mainly that subtle pastel pink that appeals to many customers. Pastel colors such as pêche, lavender or something grayish are very fashionable and can be very neutral and subtle. ”
A pink hairstyle is not only hip and trendy, it also turns out to be very handy. “The big advantage is that you can have the tan for a week. If you are a blonde, it is perfectly washable. If you opt for a long-lasting pink, it will remain around four to five weeks. ”Although not everyone opts for a lasting color that quickly. “Most people want to dye their hair temporarily pink. I see such a peak especially during events such as Tomorrowland or the We Can Dance festival because people want to stand out from the crowd. Nor is it easy for everyone to color your hair pink just because you simply cannot combine it with every profession, ”says Jochen.
