Netflix has decided that there will be no third season from Marvel series Luke Cage. The second season came out in September.
“Unfortunately, there is no new season from Luke Cage “, Netflix and Marvel know in a joint statement. “We are extremely grateful to everyone who has worked on the series, and we also thank the fans and viewers for their support.”
Luke Cage is the second Marvel series in a week that does not follow up on Netflix. Iron Fist also gets no follow-up after season two.
Both series are part of a four part of Marvel series on Netflix. The first was Daredevil, where Friday the third season comes online, followed by Jessica Jones, which also made two seasons. After two seasons Daredevil and a season of the other series, Marvel made a crossover: The Defenders.
Luke Cage is about a man who got a bulletproof skin through experiments in prison. In addition, he is extremely strong. Although he does not want to be a hero, he is forced into that role by his powers.
