New York Attorney General Letizia James has filed a lawsuit against the giant “Amazon” company, accusing it of failing to take the necessary measures to protect its employees from the emerging corona virus.

The 64-page lawsuit, filed in the New York Supreme Court on Tuesday night, focuses on conditions at two Amazon sites in New York City, a massive warehouse on Staten Island and a delivery center in Queens.

The lawsuit states that the company has failed to properly sterilize the two buildings and follow-up contacts with known cases of Corona in order to prevent the spread of infection among the employees, in addition to taking quick response measures in order to silence anxious workers.

James stressed that the tremendous gains and population growth that “Amazon” has achieved “comes at the expense of the lives, health and safety of frontline employees.”
