To cinema goers, Chris Hemsworth (37) is best known as ‘Thor’, but Netflix users have probably already seen him in the hit ‘Extraction’. That film was viewed 99 million times within four weeks and now the streaming service has another four films ready with the actor, reports ‘The Sunday Telegraph’.
“Looks like it’s going to be Netflix’s greatest movie ever”
Chris is joining forces with Netflix, according to The Sunday Telegraph . The Avengers actor and the streaming service will make four more films together. One of these is Spiderhead , a science fiction film in which crooks test drugs that change their emotions. Miles Teller, of Divergent fame , and Jurnee Smollett, from Birds of Prey , also star in the film. Chris had one condition, which is that all films are shot in his home country of Australia.
Extraction , the first collaboration between Chris and Netflix, turned out to be a huge success. The film was viewed no less than 99 million times within four weeks. “It looks like it will be Netflix’s biggest movie ever,” he said last May. “That’s unbelievable.” At the time he also seemed to hint at a sequel to the blockbuster hit: “Who knows!”
Chris may soon have some competition in that area, because Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have signed a lucrative million deal with the streaming service.
