If it is up to Michael B. Jordan (33), he will return as the villain Killmonger in the sequel to the superhero movie ‘Black Panther’ from 2018. The actor says that in conversation with ‘People’.
“We really created a family there”
“That’s something close to my heart for a number of obvious reasons,” said the 33-year-old actor, referring to the sudden death of his colleague Chadwick Boseman last year. “I had a really tough year where I lost someone very close to me,” Jordan continues. “And what that meant for the franchise was awful.”
Chadwick Boseman, who played the titular role of superhero Black Panther, passed away last year at the age of 43 from colon cancer. However, he hid his illness from colleagues and fans for a long time, causing his death to come as a shock to many.
While it is not yet certain whether Jordan’s character Killmonger will be featured in Black Panther 2 at all, the actor is looking forward to returning to the role of the bad guy. “That world, that character that I loved playing, working with director Ryan Coogler and all that felt like family,” says Jordan. “We really created a family there.”
