For a moment it seemed that Meghan Markle (41) would be a guest on Jimmy Fallon’s (48) ‘The Tonight Show’ next month. TV channel NBC announced the visit of Prince Harry’s wife on its website on Monday evening, only to remove the message a little later. NBC admits to the Daily Mail that it made a mistake.

“It looks like someone at NBC didn’t get the memo”

Meghan would visit the talk show on December 7 and talk about her latest projects, among other things. It would also be about the upcoming Netflix documentary about Harry and Meghan, the release date of which has been postponed due to criticism of the new season of The Crown . Shortly after the announcement went online, British royalty journalist Omid Scobie denied the news. “It looks like someone at NBC didn’t get the memo,” he wrote on Twitter.

The fault turned out to be with NBC. The channel admits to falsely reporting that the Duchess of Sussex would appear in the TV show. It is not yet clear how this could have happened.

Meghan was originally supposed to join Jimmy Fallon on September 20. That was then canceled after the death of Queen Elizabeth shortly before.
