Madonna is going to direct a biography film about her life, Deadline reports Tuesday. The singer also co-writes the script, along with Oscar-winning Juno writer Diablo Cody.
The 62-year-old pop star will not act in the film herself, but will lead the search for the actress who will play her.
The film is about how Madonna became the best-selling female artist of all time, with 335 million records sold worldwide. The title has not yet been announced, but Madonna earlier suggested that the film could be called Live To Tell , a song used in her ex-husband Sean Penn’s 1986 film At Close Range .
Madonna said in a statement, seen by Deadline , that she wanted to share “the incredible journey” she has traveled as an artist, musician, dancer – “a person who tries to find her way in this world (the music world, ed.) . “

The film focuses on Madonna’s music. “Music has kept me going and art has kept me alive. I have so many untold and inspiring stories, and who better to tell that than me. It is essential to share the rollercoaster ride of my life with my voice and vision, “said the singer.
It is not yet known when the film will be released.
