In an LA Times podcast, Lucy Liu (52) looks back on a heated altercation she had with Bill Murray (70) on the set of ‘Charlie’s Angels’. According to the actress, her colleague’s behavior there was “inexcusable and unacceptable.””No matter how low you are on the totem pole, you don’t have to get burned.”
“We shot a scene that we completely turned around the weekend before. He hadn’t been there because he had a family thing,” Lucy recalls. “The scene just ran better now. I wish I’d contributed more to that, but I got in last and had the least to say.”
She continues: “So we do that scene and Bill suddenly starts yelling insults, I won’t repeat that, but it went on and on. And then I realized he was looking at me. I literally looked over my shoulder to see if he wasn’t talking to someone behind me. I couldn’t believe it because I didn’t have anything to say about important things. So I asked, ‘I’m sorry, but are you talking to me?’
According to the actress, he then started a tirade that was addressed directly to her. “I wasn’t going to stand there and allow that. So yes, I stood up for myself and I don’t regret it. Because no matter how low you are on the totem pole, you don’t have to get burned.”
