Cuba Gooding Jr. (51) has been given more time to prepare for his trial. The “Jerry Maguire” actor, accused of assault, had to report to the court in New York on Tuesday and was told that the case was postponed until October 10.
The prosecutors have been given more time because they are still waiting for evidence, various American media report. Gooding would have squeezed a woman in her breasts in early June in drunken state. The 51-year-old actor, who says he is innocent, reported himself to the police four days later. Gooding tried to get the case off the table last month, but he failed. The court stated that there are “conflicting allegations” that can only be discussed during a trial. If the actor is convicted, he can get a year in prison.
