Lana Del Rey was planning to release her new album Chemtrails Over The Country Club this fall, but is forced to postpone it until next year. Instead, she wants to offer her fans a record with covers before Christmas, she says Instagram.
Del Rey explains in a live video on Instagram that the production of the vinyl copies has been delayed by sixteen weeks. “Because the printing of the record cannot continue until March 5, 2021, in the meantime I will give you a digital album of American classics for Christmas,” said the singer, known for songs like Video Games and Young & Beautiful.
She does not yet say when the cover album should be released and which classics Del Rey has sung for it.
The singer told Interview Magazine in September that she was not completely satisfied with her new album. She confirms that it is now completely ready. The singer has already announced that her new record sounds very different from her previous album, the almost unanimously praised by critics Norman Fucking Rockwell! , which appeared last year.
