The singer assures that the drug is because “you cannot always control what your brain does.”
In a candid chat with DJ Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s Beats 1 radio show, Lady Gaga revealed that she is taking antipsychotic medications. The 34-year-old singer claimed she takes olanzapine, a drug that is also used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
According to Gaga, the reason for using the drug is because “you can’t always control what your brain does.”
And about that mental problem she spoke in a new song on her latest album, ‘Chromatica’.
“I wrote a song in ‘Chromatica’ called ‘911’, and it’s about an antipsychotic that I take and it’s because I can’t always control the things that my brain has and I have to take medication to stop the process that occurs. I know that I have mental problems and I know that sometimes they can make me non-functional as a human being, ”he explains.
The artist had already confessed to using drugs after revealing that she had been raped when she was 19 years old.
At that time she commented: “I was raped at 19 years old, several times. I have PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder). I have chronic pain. I am taking medicines”.
