Bell will return to the franchise to help tell the stories of a new generation of teenagers.
Kristen Bell will become a Gossip Girl once again, to narrate the next reboot of the series.
The Frozen star voiced the hit teen drama from 2007 to 2012, and will now return to the franchise to help tell the stories of a new generation of teenagers from private schools based in New York City.
The renewal of Gossip Girl will be established eight years after the events of the previous six seasons, which was based on Cecily von Ziegesar’s young adult novels and was responsible for converting Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, Ed Westwick, and Taylor Momsen in stars.
In announcing the Bell deal, the producers declare: “Kristen Bell has always been and always will be the voice of Gossip Girl.”
No further details of the casting have been revealed.
The sequel series, developed by original program producers Joshua Safran, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, will be aired on the new HBO Max streaming service.
