Last week, Kim Kardashian presented her new brand of slimming underwear called Kimono, on which she worked for several years. However, instead of admiring reviews, the reality star faced the resentment of Japanese Internet users accusing her of disrespecting their culture. Kardashian could not stand the public pressure and said that she would change the name of the brand.
Choosing the brand name, the star made a bet on the word game: Kimono – Kim On. However, users offered her a more suitable, in their opinion, combination – KimOhNo. Under this hashtag, Twitter and Instagram subscribers began posting their photos in real kimonos. In one, the disgruntled were right – the name of the linen really has nothing to do with traditional Japanese clothing. Kardashian listened to all the claims and made conclusions.

Very sad to hear @kimkardashian has trademarked “Kimono” for her new underwear line😭 #KimOhNo pic.twitter.com/ET5iVojTYa
“This is me in kimono and hakama at my graduation. It is very sad to hear that Kim Kardashian used “kimono” as a trademark for her line of dresser ”
A few hours ago, she addressed Instagram subscribers: “For many years, I was given the opportunity to directly communicate with fans. I always listen, learn and develop, and so appreciate the passion and different views that people share with me. Announcing the name of my lingerie line, I did it with the best of intentions. My brands and products are consistent with the principles of inclusion and diversity. I thought it over carefully and decided that I would release a light-fitting under a different name. I will announce it soon. Thank you all for your understanding and support. ”
