Katie Holmes has complete creative control over her latest project Rare Objects, writes film site The Wrap . She is directing and producing the film, co-writing it and playing a part in the book adaptation.
The story in Rare Objects is set during the Great Depression, the global economic crisis in the 1930s, and is about Maeve.
She wants to be more than just the daughter of Irish immigrants, but takes too much interest in men and alcohol and ends up in a mental institution.
Production of Rare Objects has already started in New York. The book on which the film is based was written by Kathleen Tessaro.
