She admitted that she spent most of her childhood with her grandmother. “I had a wonderful grandmother , who devotes much time to us. She played with us , was engaged in art and crafts , took to the greenhouse and taught how to cook, ”said Katherine.

Her grandmother , Valerie Glassborough , went through World War II , she worked as a code cracker. Then the woman devoted her life to raising her grandchildren.
