Julia Roberts (55) recently found out that she is not actually a Roberts scion because of an affair that took place decades ago.
The American actress made that discovery on the PBS program ‘Finding Your Roots’, where a DNA test and family tree research provided clarity.
“You’re Not Biologically Roberts”
A distant grandfather of the multiple Oscar winner, Willis Roberts, would have been dead before his son, her great-grandfather, could have been conceived. “But wait, does that mean I’m not Roberts?” The Pretty Woman actress responded shocked.
“You are Julia Mitchel,” concluded the researcher who matched her DNA with one Henry McDonald Mitchell Junior. “You’re not biologically Roberts.”
There is no reason for Julia to go through life differently from now on. “This is fascinating. And at the same time I also know that when I’ve picked myself up a bit, I still embrace the idea that my family is really my family. My last name is therefore preferred.”
