Actresses Jessica Chastain and Anne Hathaway will star in the psychological thriller Mother’s Instinct . Variety reports that it is an English-language remake of the Belgian film Duelles .
In the film, Chastain and Hathaway play two mothers and neighbors befriended in the 1960s. Both women have a son of the same age. The bond between them is cruelly disrupted by a tragic accident.
Director Olivier Masset-Depasse, who also made the French-language version, is responsible for directing. In Belgium, his Duelles managed to win nine Magritte film prizes. The film’s story is based on Barbara Abel ‘s book Derrière La Haine .
It is not the first time that Hathaway and Chastain have appeared in the same film. They also both play a role in Interstellar by director Christopher Nolan.
Chastain was recently seen in theaters in the thriller Ava, while Hathaway stars in the remake of the classic The Witches , which can be seen on HBO Max.
