Jason Momoa (42) has apologized for taking photos in the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City. Earlier this week, the ‘Aquaman’ actor posted photos of him admiring the chapel. He received a lot of criticism from fans, because it is officially forbidden to take pictures in the chapel because it could damage the artworks.
“I would never be deliberately disrespectful to someone else’s culture”
“I’m sorry if I didn’t respect your culture. I didn’t mean to,” Momoa said in a video shared by entertainment website Just Jared . “I asked permission and I thought it was okay. I would never deliberately disrespect anyone else’s culture.”
He emphasizes that he made a generous donation to the chapel in exchange for taking some photos. “Again, I’m sorry,” he concludes. “I’m sorry if I offended anyone.”
