Jamie Foxx’s recovery from a “medical complication” has now surpassed one month, with limited information available about his current condition. However, recent reports indicate that the actor is focusing on physical rehabilitation after an extended hospital stay.
TMZ obtained photographs showing Jamie’s loved ones, including his daughters Corinne Foxx, 29, and Anelise Bishop, 14, visiting him at an undisclosed facility in Chicago. The city is renowned for its top-tier physical medicine and rehabilitation centers, according to U.S. News. A source close to the Oscar winner, quoted by TMZ, stated that he is “recovering well.” (No comment was provided by the actor’s representative to Yahoo Entertainment’s request.) The exact arrival date in Chicago remains unclear, but in a recent update, Corinne mentioned that her father had been “out of the hospital for weeks.”
On April 11, the 55-year-old star of “Back in Action” was admitted to a hospital in Atlanta due to an undisclosed medical emergency. Reports indicated that he remained there for over four weeks. With the lack of information surrounding his condition, some publications speculated about his health, with one report even suggesting that loved ones were preparing for the worst. In response, Corinne took to social media to address the rumors.
“Sad to see how the media runs wild. My dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support,” she shared in an Instagram story. “We have an exciting work announcement coming next week too!”
Shortly before the TMZ report emerged, Fox announced that Jamie and Corinne would host a music-themed game show titled “We Are Family,” scheduled to debut in 2024. The series will feature non-famous relatives of celebrities performing duets with their hidden famous family members.
Jamie’s immediate work commitments have been either canceled or postponed. Earlier this month, Fox announced that Nick Cannon would step in as the host for the sixth season of “Beat Shazam” while Foxx continues his recovery. Kelly Osbourne will serve as the show’s DJ in place of Corinne. In addition, Universal Pictures decided to push back the release date of Jamie’s film “Strays” from June 9 to August 18.
