Sean Connery has died at the age of ninety, the BBC reports Saturday. The Scottish actor was best known as James Bond’s first interpreter. He played the secret agent in seven movies.
According to the BBC , he had been unwell for some time and died in his sleep. Since his retirement in 2006, Connery has lived on New Providence, the main island of the Bahamas.

Connery was knighted by the British Queen Elizabeth in 1999. Since 1975 he was married to his second wife, Micheline Roquebrune. With his first wife, Diane Cilento, he had a son in 1963: Jason Connery.
