The actor, who plays Daryl Dixon, suffered a head injury last March. While reports back then were of a low-gravity hit, Norman Reedus now says it was actually much worse.
American actor Norman Reedus recently spoke about the concussion he suffered in March while filming the final season of the series ‘The Walking Dead’.
While reports back then were of a simple head injury, the actor, who plays Daryl Dixon, has now revealed that it was actually much worse. “It was horrible. That whole ordeal for me personally was terrifying. I thought he was going to die,” he told Entertainment Weekly magazine this week .
After the accident, the actor was seen by a specialist and underwent a series of neurological tests. According to him, he had to hold on to the walls while walking through the rooms. Additionally, his condition was complicated by his medical history, which includes a titanium socket in his left eye and four screws in his nose. “I get headaches because I have a metal eye socket and light sometimes affects me in weird ways,” he recounted.
Reedus confessed that, in addition to his own health, he was very worried about how his absence from the set affected the production and forced to postpone part of the shoot. However, he was able to rejoin and complete the recordings of the eleventh and final season of ‘The Walking Dead’, whose final chapter will be broadcast on November 20.
