Carrie Mathison will soon be able to take a well-deserved break, as Homeland Season 8 will officially be the last.
It was not really doubtful if you follow the news around the series, but today it is finally confirmed that the season 8 of Homeland will be the last. Indeed, after the declarations of the showrunner and co-creator of the series Alex Gansa and those of the lead actress Claire Danes going in this direction, it is the turn of David Nevins, CEO of Showtime Networks, to declare that the adventures of Carrie Mathison will be coming to an end next year.
Homeland: a series that knows how to stop
Taken by The Hollywood Reporter at the TCA, the man said: ” I do not want to hear the word ‘cancellation’, Alex Gansa will bring the show to its correct conclusion. “It will be in any case the last season for Danes and Gansa, who had already announced their wish to stop there. Of course, given the success of the series, it’s all but impossible for Showtime to eventually commission a spinoff centered on a character other than Carrie Mathison.
Shameless to occupy the field
Regarding this final season 8, it will happen unfortunately only in the summer of 2019, and not end 2018. To compensate, remember that the season 9 of Shameless will make 14 episodes instead of 12 and will be cut in half with a beginning of broadcast in September.
