Kentucky firefighters battle a fire in a warehouse owned by Jim Beam, a major bourbon producer.
Approximately 45,000 barrels of Jim Beam bourbon at risk in warehouse fire
A spokesman for the fire department told a local channel that two warehouses were burned down late Tuesday. His teams managed to put out one of the two braziers.
Emergency Operations Manager Drew Chandler told the local WKYT network that about 45,000 barrels of bourbon were inside the warehouse, still on fire, used to age the whiskey.
Chandler said that lightning could be involved, but the hypothesis has not been confirmed by the authorities.
