Child actor Matthew Mindler was found dead aged 19, just three days after the freshman went missing.
Millersville University revealed the devastating news in an announcement to the student body on Saturday.
“It is with a sorrowful heart that I inform you of the passing of Matthew Mindler, 19, of Hellertown, Pa., A freshman at Millersville University. A search had been underway for Matthew since Thursday, after he was reported missing, ”it read.
Matthew was found dead this morning, Saturday August 28, in Manor Township, near campus. Matthew was transported to Lancaster County Forensic Center by the coroner for further investigation.
Officials did not disclose the cause of death or whether foul play was suspected.
A missing adult report was filed after Mindler’s family said he “had not returned to his room or answered his family’s phone calls” on Wednesday. He was last seen leaving his dorm at around 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24, and did not show up for his classes the next morning.
Mindler co-starred with Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks and Zooey Deschanel in “My Idiot Brother” in 2011. His last role was as a character named Peter in the 2016 TV movie, “Chad: An American Boy,” according to IMDB. .
