After an absence of six years, Eva Mendes (46) is considering resuming her acting career. In an interview with the ‘Sydney Morning Herald’, the actress says that it starts to itch every now and then.
Mendes took a break while pregnant with her eldest daughter, Esmeralda. Later she and husband Ryan Gosling had another daughter, Amada. “I look up to women who can do everything at once, but I’m not like that. Fortunately, I had the choice not to work for a while. I realize that is a privilege, ”said the actress in the interview. “I am very happy to have been able to spend this time with my babies, but they are now four and six. I am slowly starting to feel that ambition again. ”
Although Mendes cherishes time with her daughters, she confesses that she and Gosling have occasionally had a rough time during the quarantine. “Sometimes it felt like we were running a bed and breakfast with aggressive guests,” the actress jokes. “Sometimes it was like working in a hotel with angry guests demanding that we bring them food. And by the time they went to sleep, all we could do was tidy up and discuss how we were treated that day. ”
Mendes started her acting career in the late 1990s. She broke through with her role in ‘Training Day’ (2001) and has since appeared in ‘Hitch’ (2005), ‘Ghost Rider’ (2007) and ‘The Place Beyond The’. Pines’ (2012). She met Gosling on the set of the latter film.
