There will be a definitive sequel to the eighty-eight Coming to Americacomedy . Eddie Murphy will again play the leading role, as was announced on Friday.

Craig Brewer, who previously worked on Footloose , will direct the film, reports Deadline .

Murphy once again enters the role of Akeem, a spoiled African prince who disguises traveling to New York to find an independent wife there, because he does not want to marry the women in his own environment. In the future the prince discovers that he has a son and to meet him he travels to America again.

The intention is that other actors from the first part will be shown in the sequel, including Arsenio Hall and James Earl Jones.

The actor has worked with Brewer before, in the film Dolemite is my Name . In a statement, Murphy tells that he is looking forward to “bringing these dear characters back to the white screen”.
