Ed Sheeran (31) takes his daughter Lyra (1) on his +-=÷x Tour (The Mathematics Tour). The locations and cities where he performs make that possible, says the singer.
“I am lucky enough to perform on the weekends”
“I’m lucky enough to perform on the weekends,” Sheeran told the Carrie Tommy podcast. What’s more, his daughter, who is 19 months old, is “super portable” and “far from school age.” He’ll be staying in a hotel near the venue for about a week before a performance, “so it’s very kid-friendly.”
The Bad Habits singer could have done that less well for earlier performances, he says. “I used to play in toilet locations: small venues with no dressing room. You went in a van, you sometimes gave eight performances in a row and you stayed in all the shared Travelodge hotel rooms.”
The British singer starts his tour in the Irish capital Dublin in April and continues to other cities in Europe. Ed will be in the Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam on 14 and 15 July.
