While it’s no secret that Dwayne Johnson is well-liked, it turns out that many more want him to run for president.
A recent poll revealed that 46 percent would graciously support the Jumanji star if he ever ran in the US presidential election.
Speaking to People about this, the actor was honored to receive support for the lead role in politics.
“I love our country to the core and am infinitely grateful for the opportunities I have had here, as a half-black, half-Samoan child, able to work hard knowing that tenacity opens doors,” he said.
“In many ways, I am indebted to our great country for it.”
The actor stresses that “he is not a politician and I never had political passions and, frankly, I am not sure I have the patience or resignation to deal with the garbage that comes with politics and politicians.”
“But when 46 percent of Americans say they are in favor of me being president, it forces me to stand up, listen and learn with humility and respect.”
