Less than a year after the start of her talk show, Drew Barrymore (46) has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award. The actress is going for an award in the category of best presenter of an entertainment talk show.
The Daytime Emmy Awards, which as the name suggests, go to creators of daytime television, had only one category for talk show presentation for many years, but since 2015, it has distinguished between informational talk shows and entertainment-focused shows.
Barrymore competes in her category against last year’s winner Kelly Clarkson, Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest from Live with Ryan and Kelly , Hot Ones presenter Sean Evans and Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager, who own the Today Show with Hoda and Jenna present.
Barrymore’s nomination was a first from Entertainment Tonight on Monday . Today the rest of the contenders will be announced.
